Palettes


Palettes help you monitor and modify images. You can customize the palette locations. You can also who, hide , or add color to items in palette menus.
  • To hide or show all palettes, including toolbox and options bar, press Tab. For hiding or showing all palettes except the toolbox, press Shift+Tab.
  • To display a palette menu, click on the triangle in the upper right corner of the palette.
  • To change the size of a palette, drag any corner or the size box at the lower right corner.
  • To collapse a group of palettes, double-click the palette tab.
  • To return palettes to their default sizes and positions, click on Window>Workspace>Default Palette Locations.

A palette well helps you organize the palettes in your work area. It can store or dock palettes that you use frequently. Click a palette's tab to use the palette in the palette well.

Action--record, play, edit , and delete actions.
Animation--creates squences of images over time.
Brushes--select or design brushes.
Channels--create and manage channels.
Character--provide options for formatting characters.
Color--display color values for foreground and background.
Histogram--view tonal and color information of an image.
History--records the change or stage of the file that you are working on.
Info--displays color values and document information.
Layer comps--displays multiple compositions of a page layout.
Layers--used to show and hide layers, create new layers, and work with groups of layers.
Navigator--changes view of your image using thumbnail display and changes magnification.
Paragraph--changes the formatting of columns and paragraphs.
Paths--lists the name and a thumbnail image of each saved path, the current path, and the vector mask.
Styles--views and selects presets styles.
Swatches--stores colors that you need to use often.
Tool presets--save and reuse tool settings.
